Four Clemson bands will battle it out for a good cause. The Battle of the Bands at 356 will feature a diverse group of acts, raising money to fight cancer. Alpha Omega Epsilon, Clemson’s engineering sorority, will sponsor the event, with all proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. The first band up is Pursue the Heist, a hard-rock group, previously known as Suit. Suit won last year’s battle. The second act is solo artist Jordan Miller, who specializes in reggae/hip-hop. The third group, The Last Car in Alaska, will perform their pop-punk sound for a second consecutive year. Dr. Robotnik will complete the line-up, performing at midnight. Robotnik is a duo of mash-up artists who create combinations of hip-hop, pop and house music. Collections will be taken during each 45-minute set. The act that raises the most money will win a $100 prize and recognition in The Tiger, Clemson’s student newspaper. Donations will be taken at the door. Luminaries and St. Patrick’s Day goodies will be available for purchase. The event is for ages 18 and up.
