With a pleasant voice and a young spirit, Hannah Baker fits all her teenage emotions into her songs. Clemson-native Baker pairs quirky lyrics (topics ranging from mental hospitals to l-o-v-e) with a folky acoustic-guitar sound. Baker’s solo act is reminiscent of Ani DiFranco and Regina Spektor: simple yet meaningful. Baker has plenty of influences. She asserts on her MySpace page that “anything [she’s] ever heard” has influenced her in some way. “You Know I’m Yours” has a melody similar to The Beatles’ classic, “Across The Universe.” Another track, “Bumblebee” favors The White Stripes’ “I Can Tell That We Are Gonna Be Friends.” This local musician brings her point-of-view to every tune, giving her audience a personal piece every time.

Thanks! This is the first time I've ever been written about...and I dig it!
