Jason Beckham’s breathy, bluesy vocals and subdued acoustic wails are a sound to behold. He’s a versatile artist. Beckham coos about women behind soft acoustic strings in “Take Me With You” and unleashes the beast in blues-rock jams like “Midnight.” Based out of Athens, Ga., Beckham recently released “Innocent,” an album with influences from The Ramones to Otis Redding. His slower, meditative songs are reminiscent of Cat Stevens while his rock efforts have the same gruff intensity as “The Fire Down Below” by Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band.
