Comedy from out of nowhere

Unscripted comedy can produce some of the funniest material around. Mock Turtle Soup’s scenes are no exception.
Mock Turtle Soup is Clemson University’s improv comedy group, formed in 2002. The troupe performs both long and short form improvisational comedy.
Mock Turtle Soup travels around the country each year to different college campuses, performing with other improv troupes and attending workshops.
Mock Turtle Soup holds four shows each semester. This show will be the troupe’s last of the 2007-2008 season. The first part of the performance is “family-friendly” and lasts an hour-and-a-half. Nocturnal Soup (the second performance) is more artistic and for adults.
Improv comedy is performed with little or no preparation. This type of comedy was made famous by the television show, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” Mock Turtle Soup performs scenes following the rules of a predetermined game. All the lines and characters in the scenes are made up on the spot.
Mock Turtle Soup will support former “Road Rules” cast member and “Last Comic Standing” comedian, Theo Von at a benefit show next Wednesday.
