Flirty, flowery, spring dresses are the choice for any occasion this season. These fun frocks are necessary to fully enjoy this great time of year. Whimsical patterns and designs are carefree but with a polished, put together look. Good for any setting, dresses come in every color and style.
Catch someone’s eye. Look for bright, attractive patterns and colors. Mix bold prints in pastel colors or vice versa. Small flower prints are always super-cute. Make sure the piece doesn’t look like a blast from the past though, with dull colors and floral mishaps.
Style is essential in this area of wear. Dresses come in spaghetti straps, halters, strapless, empire waist, drop waist, etc. Empire waists are everywhere right now and they are a quaint addition to this fad. An empire waist can appear casual when sundresses are paired with Rainbow flip-flops or dress it up in heels and a glittery jacket. But also remember the point of these dresses is easy breezy, so don’t go too high maintenance.
Fabric is important. All of this style is comfortable, so choose fabrics the came way. You want your dress to float in the breeze and hug you just the right way. Do not buy anything that is too stiff or too tight. Cotton is the best natural fabric I have found. If you do not mind synthetics, try a polyester/ rayon blend. Gauzy fabrics are super feminine and the perfect outfit when paired with a casual blue jean jacket and sandals.
As always, make sure the dress fits you. There are so many funky dresses, but if they do not support you or hug too tight, then it’s just not happening. Plus, anything that doesn’t fit right can just add to the heat that is already rolling in. Also, try to keep your wardrobe open by purchasing items that can be matched with many selections.
The warm season is almost here and a vacation — along with new clothes — is approaching fast. Check local boutiques first. Yes, they will be slightly more expensive, but avoiding the obvious is worth it. Target has great clothes coming in daily right now, so keep an eye there, too.
