The pants chance

April 18, 2007, 06:01 p.m. EST

Ok, it is official. You can now wear white pants without being scoffed at. Granted we don’t really follow this fashion taboo anymore, but why not be on the safe side? And don’t feel limited to white. Switch it up with some new and exciting styles.

Check out pastel colored pants. These are light and can add a simple touch to any great outfit. Light pink pants with a deep purple polo and white pumps are great for any occasion. Pastels are elegant, yet hassle free. They are perfect for work and play.

Wide leg pants are back. No, not as a bad flashback to the ’90s, but an excellent twist on a vintage style. These pants are well fitted in the rear and go into a wide, slightly structured leg. Wide leg pants are slimming and elongating with heels. Try them in lightweight denim and classic trouser materials.

And of course, there’s the classic white pant. Now anything goes. Try big and flowy or stiff and pleated. Whatever flips your wig.

For the guys, the famous seersucker is always hot. Nothing can beat them. They are comfortable and look sharp. What more can you ask for in a man? They come in every color and in shorts, as well. Seersuckers are perfect for outdoor parties or a hometown barbeque.

Check out Express and J. Crew for a wide range of pants styles. You can find a sweet pair of pants anywhere, so keep your eyes open when out and about.

If there was ever a time to splurge, it would be now. These pieces are a combination of summer and spring style and work well for the duration. So fork out a little more for quality so it doesn’t turn into quantity.

Pants are no longer limited to winter. Their airy styles jazz up the drab. So whether you lead with one leg into your pants or both at the same time, it’s time to jump feet first into these sizzlin’ summer styles.
