Winter can be tough on your skin. And the transition from season to season isn’t any easier. Well, now there is someone who can help.

Michelle Morris is an aesthetician at The Body Center on Hwy.123 in Seneca. Michelle offers facials of all kinds and waxing as well.

She carries a refreshing line called Eminence. Eminence is a completely organic skin care company based out of Hungary. Since the products are organic, even the most sensitive skin types can use them.

“I love organics because there are no extras to clog pores or do skin damage,” Michelle said.

The Body Center offers a variety of skin care options. Michelle will most likely start you off on a European Facial. This is great for any skin type and can be customized for each client. The Body Center also offers specialty products. Good news ladies: chocolate is no longer off-limits. Michelle has a Hungarian Dark Chocolate Mask that is rich in antioxidants and can help reduce and prevent the signs of aging. It also reduces spots and blemishes on the skin.

The Clearly Garlic line is Eminence’s newest offering. It’s an odor-free treatment that promotes anti-blemish and anti-aging. It begins with garlic’s antibacterial action and finishes with rich Lycopene from tomatoes.

Also, keep an eye out for specialty facials around holidays. Michelle offered a Chocolate and Cherry facial for Valentines Day and a Hungarian Crushed Rose facial on Mothers Day. She will be offering the Cool as a Cucumber facial during the hottest part of summer.

Michelle recommends talking with a dermatologist to better understand your skin’s needs. While Michelle can identify issues, she is not trained to diagnose or treat problems. She also recommends getting a facial every four to six weeks.

Don’t think you are off the hook, though. Proper skin care between facials can improve skin quality and make facials much easier and less stressful. Use makeup that is mineral oil free. Water based products are best for the skin. Also, sunscreen is essential.

“People need to understand that sun damage starts early,” Michelle said. “While it can be treated later on, it needs to be prevented.”

Cosmedixs offers an oil-free sunscreen that contains zinc and titanium. This product is awesome for your skin. But remember the correct way to apply sunscreen. Never rub! Press the product into your skin and let it soak in for a couple of seconds. Use sunscreen not just in the summer, but year round.

Eminence products also give you a chance to support a good cause. Five dollars from each purchase of Pink Ribbon Sweet Red Rose Whip Moisturizer will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. So help your skin and save a life.

When you visit The Body Center, not only can you get a wax and facial, you can also get a haircut, a massage or have your nails done. The Body Center is a full day spa and offers excellent service, whatever the treatment.
